Pathways & Progress

Every child's pathway through Maypole Farm is individual. We assess, plan, and support progress in a way that is genuinely tailored to each young person.

No two children take the same path.

We never assume we know what a child needs before we meet them. We understand children change, their needs change, their goals change.

Every young person at Maypole Farm has a personalised plan that evolves with them.

For some children, the goal is returning to mainstream education, and we actively support that, when the time is right. For others, the pathway leads somewhere different such as further education, higher education, apprenticeships or employment.

What progress looks like

Progress at Maypole Farm is measured in ways that relate to each individual. These could be:

Arriving. Even for an hour.
Feeling safe enough to say when something is wrong.
Making a friend, or being kind to someone.
Attempting an activity that they thought they could not do.
Asking to come more often.
Smiling. Laughing. Being themselves.
Engaging with learning.
Improved wellbeing, confidence and resilience.
Progress with academic and/or vocational qualifications.
Building towards next steps such as reintegration into mainstream or moving on to further education or employment.

Positive routes forward

Return to mainstream

For some young people, the goal is reintegration. We work carefully to ensure any transition is planned, supported, and sustainable. We maintain contact and offer support during the transition period.

Further education & training

Many young people move from Maypole Farm into further education, college, apprenticeships and vocational training. We support the transition, help with applications, and ensure qualifications are in place.

Employment & independence

For some young people, their progression pathway may lead directly towards employment, supported employment, or independent living. We help young people develop the skills, confidence, and qualifications they need to take that next step.
